Coburger Fuchsschaf - (Coburg fox sheep) From the 19th to the 20th century it was a numerous breed of sheep, but after the Second World War the breed was dying out. The breed is of German origin and is used in many mountainous areas for nature care. The meat is a delicacy and the wool is highly valued due to the red shades. The reddish colors are characteristic of lambs and the older the sheep gets, the lighter it becomes. The Fuchsschaf is a large sheep, thrifty and hardy. It has no horns. The sheepskin from Fuchsschaf is absolutely wonderful, soft and delicious and decorative with the fine delicate reddish color nuances. |
