The Jacobs sheep is a rare breed of sheep in our latitudes. Breeders are found mainly in England/Ireland/Germany. Jacob's sheep is related all the way back to the apostle Jacob from the New Testament and the breed is believed to originate from West Africa and the Middle East. The sheep has been dying out in Europe but the breed is now stable. The sheep can have up to six horns, but usually 2-4 horns. The sheep is bi-colored, either white with black spots, white with brown spots or white with gray spots. The skin is very decorative, but can be used perfectly as utility skin. They can be large with a soft and thick fur that makes them very comfortable to sit in. |
